Naughty Incident # 101: Permanent Marker on the White Carpet
Sometimes I think it would be interesting to list all of the naughty things Tommy and Joey do...just to document it for their posterity. I've resisted the urge to make such a list, for fear it would leave me feeling angry (the opposite of a list of blessings or a list of the nice things people do for me). But can I just say that if I did keep count and make a list, I'm sure today's incident would be at least #101 (or higher, much higher):
During his "naptime," Joey dragged the ladder from his bunkbed to his closet (quite the feat for a two-year-old), climbed up it, and got down a jar of writing utensils. Among the many choices of benign pens and pencils, he selected two Sharpe markers and colored a picture on himself, on a few toys, and on his bedroom carpet. Aargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May I note that Naughty Incident #97 was smearing makeup all over my bedroom floor (and himself and my bed)?
My poor house endures so much abuse from these little boys that I wouldn't be surprised if one day it just gives up and the walls collapse.
(Let's hope not.)

The ladder looks pretty precarious, don't you think?
Thank goodness for rubbing alcohol and our "magic carpet"--I just might be able to get this out. (Although our carpet gets pretty 'dirty' from shoes and dirt, for some reason it seems to magically absorb colored stains if you just wait long enough. I'm not kidding--tomato sauce, green food coloring, etc. have all just vanished with time.)
