Samuel at 10 weeks

Here's a video of Samuel at 10 weeks! Warning: I didn't edit it at all, so it's long and boring. And it's terrible quality (I have to look into the settings on our video camera before making another one), but you can still get an idea of what Sam looks like these days, and I thought my parents might appreciate that.

"I Love to See the Temple"

Tommy has spent several hours on this project:
It was his own idea, and I haven't helped him at all except for putting several pages together to form a book. He carefully follows "The Instructions" (the real book), and you can see how strongly his book resembles the real thing. I thought it was cool that he even tried to mimic the font on the title and the number of fingers on each kid's hand.

I also asked him what makes temples so special. His simple answer: "God." Then we talked about how temples are the houses of God, and that families can be sealed together forever in them. Jon and I are so grateful to have been married in a temple so that we can be an eternal family.

The Giant

The boys saw a real giant! (Or at least they thought they did.) We were in a public place, and a somewhat tall man walked in. One of the boys exclaimed to the other, "Look, a giant!" And then the dialogue followed something like this:

"Oh, yeah, look a giant!"
(and pointing excitedly), "A scary giant!"
(still pointing), "I see a giant!" "Yeah, a giant!"
(and now running to the man), "Hi, giant!"
(and speaking directly to him as he tries to keep walking and avoid their excited remarks), "Hi, giant! Hi, giant! Hi, giant!"

All the while, I was so embarrased, I pretended I didn't know what they were talking about.

Samuel's Beautiful Smile

Samuel has really changed in the past week. Last week we could coax him into smiling once or twice a day. Now he smiles up at me at the end of each feeding. He also oohs and goos a lot. He is a VERY sweet, darling baby. He is happy most of the time, has many (though not all) good nights when he wakes up only twice for short feedings, and still sleeps a lot during the day. Here are some pictures of Samuel taken yesterday (8 weeks old):

This is totally unrelated, but I also added a picture of my new hairstyle for my mom to see:
