Joey at two months old!

Joey turned two months old yesterday! Life has gradually become SO much smoother over the past two months (though it's still a lot harder than when we just had Tommy). Yesterday, for example, I had enough energy to go to Super Target with both boys (carrying Joey in the sling), set up a slip 'n slide for Tommy and his friends, make dinner, and work one hour for Crossroads Research (my part-time employer). So in general, I'd say that life is back to normal! Nursing is now a breeze; Joey no longer has his nights and days mixed up (he does still wake up at night after 4 to 5 hours, but he goes right back to sleep after eating); Tommy loves his baby brother and laughs at Joey's funny noises and jerky movements; and Joey smiles every now and then, which makes everything worth it!
This morning I took Joey to his two months appointment and found out that at 15 pounds, 4 ounces, he is off the growth chart! Enjoy the cute pictures below:
Ohhh, I had too much to eat...

But eating makes me happy!
And now that I'm two months old, I like to smile!
Eating also makes me sleepy...

Never leave yummy temptations within childrens' reach...

Today as I stepped out of the shower, Tommy cheerfully said, "Mommy, juice, help!" as he held an open bottle of children's ibuprofen out toward me. Sure enough, his breath smelled like bubble gum, and I figured he'd drinken about 2 to 4 tablespoons (his normal dosage would be 1 teaspoon), and he was eagerly waiting for me to help him drink some more. Yikes! I called the Poison Control center, and they reassured me that he would just be extra tired and have a tummy ache. Sadly, the tummy ache must have outweighed the tiredness because he refused to go to sleep at naptime.

Poor little Tommy has been pretty sick--he had a fever of 104.7 last night! Luckily, the fever hasn't returned since the huge dose of "juice."

Tommy & Blue really hit it off...

Tommy made a new friend at the Mall of America...Blue! They had quite an extended conversation before we finally had to say goodbye.

Tommy, Perry, and Blue
Whose foot is bigger?

Tommy had a BLAST while his cousins were in town!

Tommy and I tried to tell Jon he was too big for the Blue's Clues Ride, but he couldn't be convinced...But he was too scared to go by himself, so Tommy obliged...

Tommy's New Trike

Grandma and Grandpa gave Tommy this new trike for his birthday while they were here visiting us. He loves it! He still hasn't quite figured out the pedals (probably because we still haven't spent enough time teaching him), but that doesn't stop him from sitting on it and pushing it around with his feet. Or from lounging on it to read books or play with his cars.

Joseph's Blessing

Joey was blessed in church by Jon two weeks ago when Christy's family was in town. Doesn't he look sweet in his darling blessing outfit!
